The everlasting pencil, also known as the infinity and eternal pencil is a novel writing/drawing device that uses changeable tips made of a very hard pigment-loaded material.
The compromise is that the mark it makes is fairly light, although it does produce interesting shading results that might please some artists.
These pencils are widely sold on Temu, eBay, AliExpress and other online platforms.
I'm quite impressed by how many spelling mistakes I managed to make in one video. I'll just pretend that's how we spell things here. At least I got to test the slightly squishy eraser.
I'm not sure how long a tip will last, but I'd guess that even a well worn tip will still have uses for filling in larger areas of colour.
I got these pens expecting them to be pretty faint, and they didn't disappoint in that regard, but they do potentially have their uses. I'll stick to my Pilot V-sign liquid ink pen for my schematics though.

While ordering some stuff online from Teo or Temu, I added this rather unusual device to order. It's an Infinity pencil. It's available from many other suppliers they call it Eternal or infinite pencil and I'll show you it writing cuz the idea is you can change these tips so I shall show you what this looks like. So let's uh Focus down onto here H Zoom in a bit and just for reference, here is a ordinary pencil.

ordinary pencil is that? even showing up it's not really, is it? So let's uh, tame that down. that's better. So now let's try the infinity pencil Infinity pencil and to be fair, it's got a very similar line Darkness to this rather random one that's slightly bent for some reason. but it does work.

Um, but if you really if you use it a lot, the tip will gradually wear away and because it's tapered, it will sort of go quite thick very quickly. I Initially thought when I bought this that this thing inside I could see the little void I was hoping it was going to be an ink Reservoir and that maybe these were of felt tips and you could fill it with ink. but it's not the case. this is just a a rubber.

Does it work? Let's try rubbing it. Oh, it does work. It's not too bad. I Mean it works as well as rubbers do.

Kind of oldfashioned. aren't they right? Let's take a look at the other one though because this one came with. How many did it come with? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. It came with.

10 spear bits and they literally just unscrew from the end. Be careful when you're putting them in, they can cross thread quite easily. or maybe I'm just extremely hamfisted. That is a possibility.

The other pen I got is a multicolor version. It comes with the blue as standard with the blue body. So this is the blue pencil. and I Have to say that really, just for reference, this is the V sign pen.

and really I I Like a nice jet black line and uh, these pencils, not even this one aren't really cutting the mustard here however. Uh, this might find it's got an interesting style I Think it might find applications with people who want it for an art purpose and it's quite a Noel device. This one came with lots and lots of uh, lots and lots of Colors Let's try some of them. so out with the blue.

I Think they're probably compatible in with the brown and we'll try a few colors. So here's Brown Kind of a reddish brown, almost like a magenta more than anything else. not so much magenta, perhaps a a deep Crimson but okay, let's try a super light color like yellow and there is silver as well. I Think these are more of a no to anything else.

but as I say I think artists might find them. Noel Yellow Oh, it actually is notably yellow. This is actually quite a a strong layer. it's putting down slight uh Cham fr the tip there as you'd expect from that, but it is what it is.

Let's try the silver. actually. you know what? rather than tort you, I'll just actually do these all I I'll draw this silver first which I'd call Gray I shall pause momentarily and I'll do all the other colors so you can actually see what it looks like. and there are the colors.
note I Wrote burple here because I thought this was black, but it turns out that it's purple. It just. it was a very, very dark color. Uh, so it comes with a blue, brownish color yellow, purple, green, dark blue, silver, orange, red Crimson dark green, and a sort of gray which is actually probably closest to the black here.

So these things are quite novel. They're okay. they're quite an interesting pen. I Think artists would actually find these quite useful for a particular sort of a almost like a past style of a picture.

I Mean it's not bold lines it puts out and from what I've tried. Uh, even with a fairly modest amount of scribbling, it didn't really wear the tip away too quickly. so it is a novelty. I'm not sure about the rubber.

the rubber helped me remove the E from the brown. Why? I put an E at the end of the brown but I think to be honest I'd want to use this to actually store a random selection of colored bits inside because it seems like it would be a much more functional use. But there we have it. That is the unusual but interesting infinite or Eternal pencil.

It's odd. It's not great for design work where you want a nice bold line, but as a Noel artistic pen, it's actually not too bad.

Glad you erased the e from brown! We all have a brain fart form time to time! These look much better than the skinny "lead" in propelling pencils of yesteryear.

This product sums up nicely what TEMU is all about. Copyright violation by copying LAMY's design, misleading claims (everlasting) and overstatements of the actual use cases (a normal colouring pen would do the same and you can actually sharpen it. These will end up with blunt tips after 10 min).
I don't get why you buy so much stuff from TEMU for your videos. The shipping of cheap, low quality products is bad for the environment, the products are almost exclusively gimmicks, redundant, of poor quality, and not what they claim to be and a lot of the stuff will be produced in sweatshop like conditions by underpaid workers.
Is TEMU paying you for those videos? If so, you should tell.

Yes, but does it have a fuse, or battery that blows up inside?

A LAMY rip off design. Beautiful

I mean they could have at least turned the cap into a crude sharpener to try to justify calling it "infinite". Instead it's just a mediocre art pencil using proprietary tips with a generic eraser tossed inside. Another great product for Chinese sellers to market the hell out of on Amazon at a 1000% mark up.

I'm so glad you made this vid. I saw these on I think Amazon and the similarity to Lamy was driving me crazy.

Interestingly the writing will change colour over time. Apparently the standard black/grey will have a copper tone due to oxidisation.

I have this exact shape plastic pen, but the tip doesn't write. It cuts. Its got a tinyrazor blade tip for cutting out small vinyl stickers. Interesting how that pen type is so universal. Probably incredibly inexpensive to produce in high volume.
