I bought this while I was looking for the different styles of inflatable solar camping lights. It's what you might expect for the price.
If using an 18650 lithium cell then make sure it's either protected or use a compatible charger with the output capped to 4.2V.

What happend to your left hands finger?
other then using a protected cell what and were can i add to protect a regular flat top cell
thank you
Odd that the resistors seem to be three different values. ย Perhaps it's a fairly bogus attempt to regulate the current by limiting the base current and relying on the transistors' betas? ย More likely, it's just "sweep the floor" construction where they use whatever resistors they happen to pick up.
Looks to me like sticking Ni-MH cells in that wee clip isn't that bad an idea after all…
Could the chip be a binary counter of some sort?
I would love to see a revised circuit design by you for this device!
Hi Clive can you help me with a dilemma i got a 3 ph moter and in told if i wire it up in the delta wireing with capasiters on the third connection it can run on 240 v is this true
Very cute
Does the cord not have a protection circuit?
Hi Clive, itโs Jay Wynn AKA THE SINGING ROBOT (BGT SEMI-FINALIST) could I contact you privately on your preferred means of messaging ? Iโm working on a project and could use some advice with the electronics ๐ค๐ฌ๐ง๐ค๐พ๐๐ป๐

Expectedly…
So there is nothing between the battery and the charge port? If i understand that correctly, if you put in the battery in reverse, the chip is protected, but you could potentially fry your computer when you plug it in for charging?
Hello, Clive! Very good video as always – do you plan making another Q&A? That'd be really nice as well! Cheers!
