A common online lighting device that generates multiple focussed beams of light that create illuminated lines on surfaces like walls and ceilings.
The construction is optimised for the function, including a machined alloy casting. The circuitry is simply two high power LEDs wired in series with a common current regulated power supply.
To hack/mod these lights the lenses will need to be removed from either side to gain access to the standard "luxeon star" style LED modules. They are siliconed in at the edges and can be reinstalled using the same adhesive.
As with most of these lights, this one is hackable for those living off-grid with a 12V system if you have the extra power available for gimmicky lighting effects.

Comments that it should be earthed, plugs it in, then grabs it. ๐Ÿ˜

How do they get away with no ground?
Everything should have a ground/earth terminal screw. ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ณ

Truly everyone needs more than their salary to be financially stable with this economy. Best thing to do with your money is to invest it rightly because money left for saving always end up used with no returns.๐Ÿ“Œ

Color changing LEDs will have the dies for different colors slightly offset resulting in offset lines, yes?
Would be neat to have a way to mount a laser in there with some sort of beamsplitter.

I just got one of those power supplies in the mail with an LED spotlight! Super weird, claims to be 12VAC (who even has access to 12VAC?!) in, 3VDC out, works with 12VDC in, but measured output is also 12VDC, where's my 3VDC? The LED spotlight is rated for 12VDC anyway so… not sure what to do with it, might use it anyway?

Edit: Just read the cover and it is a dimmer (LED Dimming), I guess regular AC dimming can be used through the dimmer?! With… 12VAC, still weird, guess I wont use it.

Perhaps in the next ten years I might not need such a unit…
    Great teardown, Sir.

Flip the lenses. What could go wrong? 18650 with a switch and a resistor.

Clive, I want to thank you for always being considerate regarding warnings about the lights coming on and strobes and such. I often watch your videos while laying in bed and forewarning is greatly appreciated for not blowing my retinas out. Cheers from New Hampshire!
