I made a video about the first version of this light that appeared in Poundland a few years ago. That version contained a 1W LED, but while this version doesn't, it is still a good light. Possibly better than the original version.
A quick test shows that the current through the LED is a rather fierce 150mA which is quite a lot for that size of LED.

Hi Clive, where do you buy your tools? Interested in everything, but I think it’s quite difficult to find good small bit screw drivers with security torx and other bits needed to take apart electrical appliances.
Only thing I see wrong with this is they could have made it slightly wider to fit AAs instead of AAAs for longer runtime.
What if put 1 18650 battery in it?
I've found that it works quite well generally, but can create a bit more heat over the long run
Don't knock the product for its supposed "1 Watt" output. Just find a cheap chinese multimeter that doesn't do decimal places (pretty sure those exist), and voila you got your 1 Watt output .;-)
Looks like you could cram a button-top 18650 in there…
That is a handy little light, i think is very useful in tight crawlspaces when you work at something and you need to move light source often.
A camping light that uses 3 cells. Thats just fucking stupid. Who carrys a charger capable of charging 3 cells ? They exist but if your that cheap to buy this light then your not going to spend a few extra buck to get a good charger.
Most shitty chargers charge in pairs, How does the 3rd cell get charged :\
Anyone who buys devices running off 3 cells gets no pity from me.
"I'm gonna take this into work and I'm gonna measure the current through it, then I'll leave a note in the description below"
LIES
You really should buy a cheap, but decent multimeter to keep in your travel bag, because you never know when you might need one. 😉
So what was the current? there was no note in the description. I'm guessing it's a quarter watt led being driven at about 50mA.
Hat Clive can you pease check out one those
music activated car equalizer stickers
lol the switch leads are larger than the battery leads
