A redesign of the Gallium PCB to accommodate either through hole or surface mount resistors. I used 220 ohm resistors in this build.
The zip file with full gerbers for this PCB can now be downloaded from my site if you wish to get some made at one of the Chinese PCB manufacturers. I had these boards made by JLCPCB (Not a sponsor). Here's the link to the zipped file.

If you go to the PCB manufacturer's order page and upload that file as a single zip file, it should show a preview and fill in all of the order details (but feel free to tweak colours as you desire.). Here's a link to JLC's order page:-

A large amount of these PCBs are being sent to random Patreon and PayPal channel supporters as thanks for helping keep the advertising on the videos to a minimum.
I'd like to add these to my shop, but the cost of postage is now so high that sending a kit out would cost almost £9 ( $12) just for the postage. It may be viable to send just the PCBs in minimal packaging, but you would have to source the LEDs and resistors from eBay yourselves.
It seemed a good idea to use my newly acquired flashing blue LEDs in this build. But for home decoration use the best choice is low intensity, plain, diffused LEDs or the slow colour cycling ones.
You can see this panel in use in the background on my recent live streams on the BigCliveLive channel.
Here's the video of the Fast & Furious pre-show that inspired the LED choice.
Let me know if you think they're all individual fixed speed flashing LEDs.

If you enjoy these videos you can help support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and random gadgets for disassembly at:-

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

Built one of the random blue flashing boards last week – very much like the effect.
I just got a pack of these boards from JLCPCB, first time ordering PCBs like that, went very smoothly, and now I'm watching this video while I build my first supercomputer 😀 I have enough slow change RGB LEDs, so am going to populate one board with those while I order some single color flashing ones. I like the hectic style of the blue. I've completed one row just to check polarity and function, and they're nicely out of sync after a couple of minutes of run time, and the slow change makes it pretty mellow. Thank you for the projects, Clive!
Ohhh, I like that!
Wow Man
I'd buy one of those boards, if I could get those specific LEDs. Another source of glasss, if you need some for some reason, is scrapped flatbed scanners.
I think it would look super cool if you added in some green, yellow, and red banks, maybe leave some blank… give it more of an appearance of function than just all blue. Different colors must mean different things, right?
Maybe spray paint the board black will make it nicer?
Hey all!
Long time lurker, here. I really love the PCB holder featured, but I can't seem to find them. At least not for less than $300, for a way less portable unit.
does anyone know what that style is called?
Amazing look. Just one niggle, I would have prefered the resistors to me centred with the led. I know that it's easier for soldering purposes, but it looks like it's all of centre with itself, if you can understand my jibbering, that is!!!!
Nice visual effect. I’ve put the blue one together. I’ve added a simple circuit with a ldr to dimm it automatically when the room gets darker. Works great and keeps the effect nice in stead of too bright.
Realy like that my friend
How much you sell one
What ohm resisters are those? Asking for a friend.
Very cool.
I will have to look in to what is involved in getting PCBs made.
Back when I worked for a contract electronics assembler it was quite a production to get a custom PCB made.
Lots of set up charges and very high per board cost if you got less than 100.
It wouldn't look nearly as nice but somthing like this could be done of perf board fairly easily.
