I occasionally use these to Scrub Cast iron before treating it when there's carbon buildup from burnt food.
These things do turn to dust after a while, and have often left sharp fragments that are really hard to see, due to them being a similar color to cast iron after they've degraded enough to do so
They also corrode/stain a damp stainless steel sink if you leave it in there, which looks terrible imo
There are however some brands of copper pads that are fully copper 🙂
I’m not sure what you’re getting at? How do you know it’s the copper and not the magnet? I mean it’s 50/50 either/or right? I don’t get it.
ive had chinese steel vape coils that don't stick to magnets, really didn't vape well either they over heat on quite a low wattage

Does it just have a mix of steel and copper enough to make it magnetic cuz the ratio of steel is high enough? Or do they just use steel instead and color it?
It's biologically iron but it identifies as copper
I got some cheap brass wire brushes, they are also magnetic, so it's logical that the copper pad is magnetic too, brass is made of copper and zinc, but mostly copper.. ;P

Yeah I always thought that something was sus about those modern copper-colored scrubbers. Never ended up using any though. I do have a super old real copper one (it's small and is attached to a wooden knob handle) but its so worn out it's essentially garbage.
