I decided to test if Temu were selling radioactive "health" items, and they are.
eBay, amazon and the rest of the online marketplaces are guilty of selling radioactive stuff too. Often mis-described as negative ion devices when they really aren't.
This is quite an impressive one. A nicely moulded poker-chip style pendant, but I really don't recommend wearing this around your neck. Fun item for those who like random radioactive novelties like uranium glass though.
These things often contain thorium dioxide as the radioactive element.
Note that my Geiger counter can't detect alpha radiation and only has limited sensitivity to beta radiation. It's mainly detecting gamma and possibly X-ray elements of the radiation.

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's algorithm quirks, allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

I was wondering does Temu also sell radioactive products like eBay does and I went on looking for scalar Quantum pendants and I found one Quantum pendant Scalar energy ion necklace energy ions jewelry lava stone charm pens men, women anti-radiation protection I Wish they would say anti-radiation it is radioactive. As you're about to see, you get to choose a number. not the number of units, but the number that is printed on it. So I chose seven Lucky Seven and it's a mere two pounds, 50 or so shipped.

Very good value. If you want a piece of radioactive material, here, it is. Here is the lovely pendant you can dangle around your neck. Although to be honest, as with all these things, I wouldn't recommend dangling them anywhere near your body.

It's fairly chunky. It feels like a poker chip. Maybe it's made in a poker chip factory and it's got the seven on it. Maybe it is actually a poker chip that's been, uh, impregnated with with the hair thorium dioxide which is their usual thing.

And it comes the leaflet that says uh, well, lots of stuff in Chinese and energize your body. Oh, there is, uh, presumably after it's been energized and that was it before. uh, there's a radiation meter. presumably it says ion tester.

It's nothing to do with ionizers and it also says um, red blood cell test before wearing and after. presumably these are cancerous growths. Who knows. Anyway, prove that it's radioactive I Have with me a little geiger counter as one does and what I'm going to do is I'm going to keep this well away I'm going to get a background count.

So I'm going to let this, uh, stabilize my background count and we can take a look at it. So I shall do that now one moment, please. Okay, we've got our background radiation sample, which is typically around about 20 counts per minute. waivers up and down a bit above that.

Let's bring in the scalar ion pendant and just rest it against the um, the geiger tube and we'll see how it goes. I made Posh a while just to let it get a new standard, but you can now hear that the count rate has gone up dramatically and it's now, um, 50 above ambient. Oh, it's approaching. it's approaching twice ambient radiation levels, right? Tell you what.

I'm going to pause and I'll come back once it's stabilized one moment. please. Foreign times, ambient radiation levels. Now its nearest competitor.

Let's try something from if I can find it. Oh, there it is. Let's try something from eBay Now that's not bad in relative terms. let's try.

Uh, I shall reset this and I shall try the phone radiation protection sticker from eBay so I should just lean that against there and we'll leave it to actually get a typical reading for that one moment, please that seems to have stabilized. So the winner here for the highest dose of radiation is the eBay Quantum energy 5G defense sticker for your mobile phone protection from the 5G waves. but actually exposure to Radioactive energy So these things are everywhere and it makes me think uh, how safe is it for the factory workers in these places because they're the ones that get exposed to this a lot. In the case of the quantum Energy phone sticker, they usually have the thorium dioxide integrate into the adhesive but in the case of this it will actually be uh in natural clay or whatever they're using here, the resin or whatever this is actually made of.
but the factory workers with this are that are mixing in are breathing in the thorium dioxide dust all the time. How they do this and that kind of poses a health threat to them. But there we go that does. Answer the question: Does Temu sell radioactive products just like eBay does? and Amazon have been notorious for selling stuff like that as well.

And the answer is yes, Temu does sell radioactive Quantum scalar pendants.

Did someone sadistic design these? I mean you might as well put nothing in these if u scam someone but they went out of their way to add radio active material in it. Odd

Why do people buy potentially bad things?

    Worlds slowest Geiger counter lol.

Am I being exposed to radiation?!

    Hang on…..let it stabilize……little longer……..just a bit longer….

The dedication to actually make these quack products legitimately radioactive :0 and I am sure the factories producing them are not regulated properly at all, and workers will be exposed to this radiation just like the radium girls were :/ the pamphlet literally chronicling the effect on blood is wild

Imagine buying one of these secondhand and not knowing what you had 😦

I mean, what is an ion but a charged particle, and beta radiation/particles are just electrons and positrons, so technically "negative ion device" isn't lying (for β⁻ decay, anyway)

There is research showing low doses of ionizing radiation can be beneficial to health so maybe that’s why they made this.

Thorium oxide emits alpha and beta radiation which is pretty harmless. You want to shield your eyeballs and also not ingest or inhale the particles but external to your body alpha does not penetrate your skin and beta barely your skin so maybe clothing. I worked in nuclear power and we used to use those coleman gas lantern mantels for training. The radiation detectors we used for frisking when we came out of the reactor compartment were set to 300 CPM above background. A coleman mantle would set off their alarm. And as I think about it they did penetrate clothing some because the person acting as the instructor could hide them in a pocket or sock or whatever to see if the trainee caught it by doing a thorough frisk. I'm less sure about modern ones. I was just reading that while some mantels are still made with thorium oxide, many now use other materials. I still wouldn't go out of my way to wear such a pendant but I doubt it does much good or bad.
