Pound World is the arch-nemesis of Poundland in the UK. They sell some similar priducts, but also do different stuff too.
This is a teardown and schematic of their 12 LED GU10 lamp.
Interestingly, it manages to keep good separation between tracks inside, and has a good light output, running the LEDs at just under 20mA. At a rated power of just over half a watt, it's actually very useful for low level decorative lighting.

Hi Clive, I was just wondering what the two pins in a GU10 light bulb are called and where I can find them? I have googled like crazy without any luck
They've gone into receivership now, Poundland wins!
I have osram GU10 Led warm white with one led . Led star PAR16 50 36 ° 350 LM 32 mA and 4.3 w on AB41910 230v +- 10v Nice one
pound world have new led gu10 and its 50w equivalent got two in hall extremely bright
my god 12 DIP leds….
even the "cheap" brand name MR16s downlight i got eons ago had 15 leds (1.1w) and even my torch is brighter
Hey clive, i've now made it through all you videos and loved em all, was wondering if you fancied trying out some of the £2-£4 3s lipo boards from ebay. i've just built a circuit with one in and would rest a lot easier knowing how likely it was to set me on fire
I had 4 of those in the study downstairs. Wasn't giving enough light so after a few months, I got 4 of the SMD 5W versions from Poundland instead. Much better now 🙂
Hello ray.I am big fan of your's. U help me like my scholar.whenever ever I face any problems to making stuff.ur videos help me to learn.and this video also informative
Loving these LED lamp teardowns you do, but wondering if you ever plan to explore the "dimmable" variety?
Thanks for all your vids, really informative and entertaining. Beats the crap out of telly 🙂
Regards, Ian, Birmingham
Hi any chance to test and comment on nanoleaf which claimed as the world most efficient LEDs?
Excellent details in your videos.
What would be good is if you have a list of 'good' products, which you reviewed and give the positive reasons why you recommend them, going into details of build quality and reasons why a certain best practice is best and what the bad alternatives are etc.
Of course they skimped on the 0.01 cent inrush current limiting resistor, even though they already got the pads for it….
I've yet to convert to LEDs for mains lighting, I still don't trust them… :S
(plus I like my light to be about 4100k, not the sub-2700k or over-6500k that most LED lights seem to put out!!)
325V / 12 LEDs = 27V / LED
Is that right?
Hello Sir. I you want to preserve the glass base you could use sand paper on the lip of the glass face connected to the base. Cheers
Ok I have a stupid question:
I have a 120 VAC Warm White LED strip lamp I got from Lowes last year and it has for some reason gone very dim.
I suspect one of the caps has gone south.
What would you recommend looking at first?
There isn't much to this thing, It's about a foot long and runs off US AC 120 volts 60Hz.. and has a very similar circuit that your GU10 has there..
Nice design. At least it doesn't have exposed mains voltages.
