Dear Clive, I remember the good old indicator LEDs jn the 1980's they were dim but lasted for eternity. What would be the ideal power to run those power LEDs in order to get a very long lifespan out of them? You sais 0.2 watt is too much for a single LED? aren't there lights where you get 1watt per chip?

These bayonet sockets seem pretty smart. I wonder why everyone else seem to use the Edison screw sockets exclusively.

It almost sounded like you wanted it to go bang. It would be awesome to see you modify these cheap gadgets for the means of getting an explosive result.

I have salvaged some old 20 watt led flood lights I would like to convert them to 12 volt dc and run them from a car battery in the garden
Can I simply put a resistor in series with the led to drop it to 3 volt?

Hi Clive are the leds rated at 3v ? I got one the bulbs to salvage the leds out if it and none of the light up with a 3volt supply? Maybe duff leds?
