I have this really cool candle that has LEDs inside the glass case with it and when you light the wick lights come I think it is using thermo to power them as far as I can think of do u have sumwere I can send u video and pic of it in action
Dear Clive, I remember the good old indicator LEDs jn the 1980's they were dim but lasted for eternity. What would be the ideal power to run those power LEDs in order to get a very long lifespan out of them? You sais 0.2 watt is too much for a single LED? aren't there lights where you get 1watt per chip?
It almost sounded like you wanted it to go bang. It would be awesome to see you modify these cheap gadgets for the means of getting an explosive result.
I have salvaged some old 20 watt led flood lights I would like to convert them to 12 volt dc and run them from a car battery in the garden Can I simply put a resistor in series with the led to drop it to 3 volt?

These bayonet sockets seem pretty smart. I wonder why everyone else seem to use the Edison screw sockets exclusively.

Hi Clive are the leds rated at 3v ? I got one the bulbs to salvage the leds out if it and none of the light up with a 3volt supply? Maybe duff leds?
are you still using the Yihua soldering station. just wanted to know that iron is working out
I love the excess solder technique. I should try that the next time I am fiddling with something myself 🙂
what a driver! lol. flickering guaranteed! better not to use that strobing flashing thing at home
