About the fatalities in TT: It could be evolution in action. There is a theory that daredevilism is gene based and why it is evoulutionary stable. The basics is that if you think of two tribes in time of famine. One tribe does not have the gene and the other has. Even if there is only one individual in that tribe having the gene that tribe's survivalibility raises because that individual can find new sources of food by testing what is and is not edible.
The very first tube of heatsink compound I bought, way back when, was clear rather than white. Every bit of it since then was white, and messy, like what you had to deal with there. Then there are all the exotic-appearing forumulations sold to the computer hotrodding crowd, which I've little experience with (nor time for).

I'm a bit concerned about the amount of solder fumes you would appear to be breathing in. Have you tried any extraction fans?
Heatsink compound is usually 55-60% zinc oxide mixed with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), otherwise known as hydraulic fluid.
I,V BEEN SWAPPING THESE ROUND AND I FOUND THAT MY PERSONAL CHOICE IS A WARM WHITE WHITH 2 BLUE 450,S . WARM BLUE. KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDS .
Everything is covered with {oil + zinc oxide}; Does this mean it won't get sunburnt?

Could I put these cheap ebay grow leds in there and use them as grow lamps?
Could I change them to red LEDs to grow algae? Or would they fry because of the lower voltage?
