Every year I try to catch some video of the show load-in, but fail because there's just no time to stop. But I grabbed some very quick clips from the main load in and subsequent troubleshooting on rogue lights. The lights are literally coming from one show or tour onto our show, so some of them do tend to require a bit of maintenance to get them back to 100% operation.
Video and sound quality is a bit patchy because of the less than ideal filming conditions and spontaneous nature.

You should put your camera on one of those lights and show us the light's view.
The new Bohemian Rhapsody movie shows "robotic" lights a lot like the ones in this video, but it was supposed to be on the Live Aid stage in the 80's. I don't think they were around back then.
It's really nice to see some of the stuff you do in your day job. It looks like interesting
Thanks for the Video Clive!
Heh, I used to do this same job years back when DMX512 was all their was.
lol cuz im a bit high
Ooh I can see my car ๐
Man is clive having a blast up there – great view included !
That is a mighty beard! ๐
Oh the lights are so cool! ๐
Don't think I could do that job though me and heights don't really like each other I freak out if I am that high up. xD
How many failures do you tend to get over the run of the tattoo? Is it just a few 'dead on arrivals' each year or do you get a few bits cr*p out during the event too?
You have a cool life.
More computing hardware than it took to send man to the Moon, for what's basically a flipping light. It's just a light! Okay it's a moving light but still. They've been doing what this is, a lantern, a light in a box, for a thousand years or more. Couple of sticks and there's your DMX512 network.
Lol, they're looking at you like: "FUCKING HELP!!"๐
