Poundland seem to have rebranded the LED lamps and changed their packaging. I guess the lamps were proving quite popular. They certainly seem to fly off the shelves in all their stores.
I bought these rebranded ones to see if anything else had changed.

Nice …. The dollar stores here in Canada gets stock from Luminus … A Quebec lighting company…. They seem to be decent enough….if you give me your mailing address, ill send you one….:)
Prob changed the packaging cause despite them being only a pound, people still steal them out the boxes… lmao
The rebranding was so you had to buy a pair of scissors in store also to open it lol!
is there any real difference in these pound led bulbs and the expensive branded bulbs that are giving the same output of light?
Would've saved me from cracking one of mine open had I known this video existed. It was a soft white though not a day light bulb. I still want to figure out why mine had four wires.
There's a trick for store own brands the bar codes usually end with the same set of numbers
Christ man, they are the same. No Scientology required. You are so entranced by LEDs you can't see the obvious.
Packaging ribbed for Clive's pleasure.
May be the move away from card box was a reflection of the number getting trashed in shelving , or the type of shelving required . Shame , always think that card should be the greener way to go , less embed carbon that a plastic blister pack , more recycling capability .
Went to Poundland today, the shelves were full of these, so guess they've stabilised their stock by now.
Also, I just had to buy the "Big Clive Screwdriver" 🙂 Actually quite good, now just have to find stuff to open, already opened everything I can in my room. Bought another screwdriver and bit set, the 31-piece set, was surprised when opening it to see it has quite a few security bits included.
These seem to work well enough if used in large enough quantities for a big room, cant really complain at the lumen output for the price. Did notice the golfball type has the heatsink holes, yet the candle seems to be missing them They certainly run cool enough though.
Clamshell would be a theft deterrent, though you probably will find the assembler is changed, probably a different one per batch. Capacitor is likely a recycled part in some cases, as a used part is going to be cheaper especially if you are not worried about the value, just so long as it falls in a range. The OEM probably has the boards and housing parts made ( or buys in bulk) then farms out the work to smaller subcontractors, who stuff the boards and assemble them to spec.
hey clive im back again would you like the gu10 version i have a pound shop near me aqnd it always have them on the shelves i could send you one
200 lumes inst great , beside lamp territory, even my desktop lamp uis 400 lumens and is only just bright enough (downward firing too), but for £1 its pretty decent, perhaps as things progress 400-600 lumens gets more affordable but £1 limits their future too, they would have more choices at £2
This is poundland, have a word with the supplier about component choice hehe, the cheaper the better, if they do complain it will be because the parts are too good
