Pifco make these to, I suspect a Chinese company makes these for other firms, I'm thinking generic with these, it happened in the old days with Ever Ready because Exide lamps were the same but better build quality in those days, sadly now some things are so flimsy or poorly designed electronically so in essence they don't last so as others have said sadly end up in landfill sadly.

1.5 Ohm Resistor at an Amp = 1.5W Resistor power dissipation, but it looked "maybe a smidge" small for 1.5+W?

Learning alot for you big clive. I dont know whats in them but I use the poundland head torches and just litter my rucksacks with them. At first the idea was if it breaks or dies it only cost a pound and id have more but the wee things (despite the terrible headbands) have been going for years now, work really well and seem to be very long lasting with the poundland batterys i used. Would be interested in your take on them

The leds usually last one set of batteries.

They way to get that pcb out without smashing anything is to get an object as big as the pcb itself and then press it against the pcb and then start hitting it with a hammer and the "glass" should pop out intact. At least that's they way I've done it. Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚

Question 2 fold Did you get your microscope on eBay and do you have the vendors name and 2nd have you looked into the new lot of Cree LED's
I have to admit i am an LED junkie as my current supply has now hit a big number for me of just on 10,002 including all types smd to about 100 10mm the larger ones don't really impress me the same way as the small one.

You should tear apart a cheap Chinese light bar for off road and explain what's inside.

I was looking at that torch in poundland earlier in the week, I decided not to add it to the clutter I already have. lol
Do you know of anywhere on the high street that sells 18650 battery's?
Buying from the Internet (Amazon), the ones I got appear to be re-used old laptop battery's. They only test around 800-900mAh instead of the 3000 they claim.
