A novel project on bigclive.com which uses a simple neon relaxation oscillator type circuit to pulse a parallel array of neons with a series of spikes, causing them to jitter about randomly.

Tried this with blue neons, only one blinking so far. Am gonna try with green and amber as well.
Clive,
I've just been on your site to look at the build guide for this (for the hundredth time), and it looks like all your pictures are gone? It just displays an adorable picture of a cat and maybe the flickr logo (or some image hosting site).
Just an FYI
Very nice. I built the nixie flower version and while looking about on your website saw this version.
I may have to build this some time.
This is so cool!
Huh, I wonder what causes the randomness. I'll have to go look into that. Thanks for the interesting project.
Clive I'm going to put one of these together if I pay £2.75 per 10 pack of neons is this reasonable how many do you use for best effect I have some nice clear glass tubesI hacked and cut to size from a few old fluro tubes and I'm thinking of building a few tubes up and mounting them into an old rustic log as the base .ps the tubes took me a lifetime to cut but I got a method to work eventually …great channel once again ..
If you keep this up you will eventually create the first real light saber.
Glad you got it going. I would expect that all the neons would have to be from the same batch to ensure a fairly close tolerance to make the effect work.
It does take a while for the lamps to get going. Try leaving it running overnight and see if it starts. The neons I used were all from the same bulk bag.
