I think that if it wasn't for BigClive, the lighting department of Poundland in the Isle of Man would go out of business. 🙂

I imagine a lot of people associate warmer white with yellowy incandescent lights, so cool white can have a more modern, refreshing feel to it. Possibly they also feel brighter.

I personally much prefer cold white as it is near to daylight which I believe gives much better colour rendition.
Each to their own but I reckon the human eye must have been designed to run better on daylight!
To me cool white/daylight LEDs are Garlic Bread (the future).
Keep the vids coming mate I love em!!

I think it depends on the decorations for me whether I like cold or warm lights. my Christmas tree has silver glitter on the ends of the branches so to speak and the decorations are all pink and glass ballerinas so I like the cold lights as they reflect more but my mums tree has colourful decorations from around the world and red berry lights so the warm lights look better on her tree. just depends what they are put with I think xxx

I like cold white because it's extra-aggregated hot every summer in Germany. xD

I like the crackle better too, sort of reminds me of the frosty and fragile globes of the past :-).
I like the really dangerious 20 x 12v bulb types from the past, they glow nicer 🙂

It could be argued that cold white is appropriate for Christmas with it's associations to frost and snow. It's not to my taste either though.

I think Ikea have warm white strings

Clive of big, I have a suggestion for you to try. Buy a big pack of colored sharpie markers and use them to color leds. I have found that the "tan" one can kinda create a warm white from a cold white.

I've seen a lot of lights at a lot of places, cheap lights priced expensively, expensive lights priced even more expensively, cheap lights priced fairly… none of them have ever had the crackled marbles on them, though.

I must live in a mild climate because I like neutral whites haha

Pick up a 1$ cig lighter usb plug for phones at the dollar store , rip out the single chip SMPS (many but not all of them actually have a cheap switch mode power supply in them , for a dollar !) and hack the resister values to make it supply 3v for the lights then run of 2 mimh cells…..

I agree, cold white is very unpleasant.
