Another year done, so we de-rig all the equipment and ship it back to the depot. Less than two days after the last show has ended all the equipment is gone and the dismantling and shipping out of the stands begins. Very soon the Esplanade of the castle will be empty, with no sign that an entire stadium complex was there earlier in the year.
I filmed this short clip while waiting for some empty flight cases to arrive for the lights.

Hello from Texas! Fellow stage tech here. What do you do once this show is closed? Do you have other shows and venues that you go to? Or do you have another, non theatre related job? Thanks.
i second the motion for a timelapse video, i tried a few in my time at FBN but never really got great results although i know a few good ones are out there such as the muse stage timelapse
Thanks for answering a question I've wondered about for some time. I didn't visit the castle grounds the first time I was in Edinburgh in 2003, and I saw the setup for the tattoo when I was there three years ago. I wondered if they left everything in place year-round, but the setup did seem to have a 'portable' quality to it.
Beep beep clowns like running around on stage too blair witch style
A teardown of one of those new cheap IR controlled RGB LED lights would be cool. I found one in a local store for around 15 dollars, it is rated 3,2 watts but doesnt really seem to have a proper heatsink.
I feel ya man I work in commercial PA sound, IT & communications. I always hate to leave a nice venue but also can't wait to get back home the same.. I am getting ready here this coming month to travel to Phoenix, Az. again, I love it out there and never really want to leave but I also want to hurry up and get home too..
is the seating temporary?
Have you got a shot of these VLs in operation at this show? I mean all moving together?
I'm so happy the show is over. Now it's time again for some good old fashioned Big Clive destruction of cheap Chinese LED lamps! Hoorah!!
It's no wonder China's economy is suffering, you haven't been buying all those things to take apart, you've been at the tattoo ๐
I'd be tempted to set up a time lapse cam of all the gear being dismantled. ๐๐ผ
I'm in the states. Where is this place?
Well, what we saw on the telly was a great show, though I was mostly watching around the lights trying to spot that odd bearded fella that's been rumoured to be loitering around there… ๐
WoW! Such a treat to get to work in such a beautiful setting!
