This is purely a technical video and not promoting the product.
I saw this device for sale at a local shop and bought one to check out. It turns out to be a product of one of the "big players" in the industry. Their history is interesting in its own right if you search for J T International and look at the Wikipedia entry.
As a result of its pedigree the construction is very refined. The circuitry is logical and minimalist, but a cut above more basic devices. I'd guess from the price that this is a loss leader, with the real earnings coming from the associated cartridges.
The magnetic interlocks and extremely good quality contacts actually make this a rather pleasing device.
Although most users will opt to use the disposable cartridges, the option is there for the technically inclined to reuse them if desired by drilling a small hole in the case and sealing it with a bit of tape.
In summary. Like others associated with prominent industry leaders, this unit is very good quality, with a little touch more flair than usual.
This one took a while to reverse engineer. Not because of its complexity, but the size. It was very tricky to probe both sides of such a tiny PCB simultaneously, even with sharp probes.

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

I have seen these just thrown down onto the ground after use.

Now that we can see the heating element is clearly a "coil", you can appreciate why there is a back EMF diode across the feed to the heating element.

    K. Watt.

This Logic stick is identical to my Vype ePod … it’s like-for-like, even with the magnetic charger!

Lol .. out of context I thought this would be some sort of a disco .. (Shit, I just dated myself) – uh – rave gizmo to fog the air for laser shows.

Isn't a microphone essentially a pressure sensor anyway, though?

And I can definitely attest to the inadvisability of magnetic connector-equipped devices for a trade worker – the offside-lead connector for my stereo Bluetooth earpiece was absolutely magical at finding swarf. I'd almost swear that it was generating swarf from thin air given its ability to attract substantial deposits while stuffed into my ear!

Does it cut out if you overheat the heating element by using it continuously?

Its always interesting to hear how words differ across the pond. What you call a "fog stick" we call a "douche flute"
