I did both the other power supplies from this group, so I thought I might as well video this one too, since it was inevitable I was going to pop the lid on it anyway.
This one had a different driver chip, a THX203H which is just another variant on the 8 pin switcher chips so common in decent power supplies. You can find it's data sheet if you Google it.
Less filtering in this PSU, but other than that it looks quite acceptable.

Hello, what's the problem if a power supply does not provide the output amperage ("power") any more? So it kind of cut-off about after 5 Volts, range 2 Volt til 16 Volts. Variable Power Supply.

Thanks a lot @bigclivedotcom i managed to fix a "ELC Ale2902M" with the explanation and your schematic 😉
It was booting and delivering a proper voltage and power but only 1 times on 20 try…
it was the 47ɥF 50V capacitor that powered the chip on boot

I have been using these units for many years to power 13W LED lamps, with no problem at all. I have supplied many hundreds to users, with not one return. Very reliable, I think. The only little down side is the lack of suppressing double coil transformer at the input side (which appears in the shematics, but is not implemented in the product). It is replaced by a single coil choke filter. But there again, no real trouble experienced.

Hey there BC, another good video. I'm in need of a good low scale amp meter in DC voltage. Any recommendations?
Reason being my old Fieldpiece I used in AC work is way to big to read at say 2 amps. I seen you with one in another video but don't remember where that was at. Thanks for any help Big Clive, Tom.

Hello Clive, this is the first time I've really commented at all but I want to tell you that I'm a "very" loyal viewer. I'm "very" impressed with you and your beautifully done videos. I think that you are doing all of us viewers a great service by providing complete and informative videos on all of these devices. I'm doubly lucky because I'm a bit of a nut because collecting colorful and decorative LED lights is my hobby while electronics is or was my work and business. I'm retired now at the age of 54 next month. I still dabble around here at home on my work bench and design table. Collect lighting products I do all the time now. But, I've never ordered anything from China over ebay. This is probably a stupid question but here goes. Will the packages come here to the United States safely and within a reasonably quick amout of time, do you think? I don't know anyone who's ordered anything from China. The 3 electronics companies that I worked for in the past and also my own company never ordered parts from overseas because we used Digi-key or Mouser for parts and I haven't branched out into overseas purchases yet, until now. Do these packages get held up in customs for a while? Thank you for any information you can provide! Keep doing these videos! We all enjoy watching your channel!

I don't understand…. Isn't there a bridge rectifier in the chip for the other two supplies?
