The most annoying thing about this power bank is that the physical structure of it is great. It supports the four 18650 cells well and has a nice PCB mounting system. The battery wires have good clearance and it's altogether quite rugged. Shame about the capacity and the way the listing assured it was a "Guaranteed 10600mAh capacity". The whole unit is probably capable of being a much better power bank when built with decent components, but in this form it's clearly been made to look the part and cater to the fake specification market. On a plus note the cells do at least appear to be real 1000mAh ones and not a mixture of real cells and weighted cases.

I come to this video every once in a while just to hear your voice. You should be a narrator!
Can you carbonate Honey Jack???
10400mha is not out of the ordinary for size, but at that price? probably not

Bought one those rechargeable rotary tool from Walmart in US. They gave me the wrong wall charger. The tool never charge the led was always blinking do that for days and never charge. Built a variable volt charger finally started charging. But it had a tight window. I still get to use wouldn't recommend for anyone else to buy.
And thanks to vaping (I picked it up trying to quit cigarettes in 2014) I learned quite a bit about 18650 Li Ion safety. It's crazy knowing that they can reach temperatures of up to 700ยฐF if they're vented to the end of their means. Wild!
Hey! So I got a 26,800 mAh about 8" by 4" maybe a little bigger, and about the thickness of a single 18650. Probably the same width as that one, but another 2" longer, but I only paid $20. I wonder how I can find out the actual capacity without tearing it to bits and breaking it. (Look I used a Clive-ism subconsciously).
A power bank with a 10000 mah is usually big and thicc.
iPod Mega?
Well theoretically if each 18650 had 2600 mAh it could be a 10400 mAh cell. Unfortunately they are only 1000 mAh per cell with really high internal resistance which is really, really pathetic.
This powerbank is also sold as a diy kit without the cells. I bought one years ago for 3โฌ or so. There is better charging boards for it available online.
I don't know why I'm watching this old video again Clive but YouTube is recommending it again so I'll watch it again
Most of those cheap power banks have 1amp USB output. Some of the larger ones have a 1amp and a 2amp output.
what is the limiting factor for the output power? could it be hacked to improve performance?
