The conductive ink contacts on his remote were causing problems, so I fixed one of his remotes and offered to turn the other one into something a bit bigger. I didn't say HOW big though.
A few things went wrong along the way, but that happens. Initially I thought it wasn't working, but it seems to just put out a single burst of IR code for each press.
Update:- Ralfy loves his new monster-sized remote. It seems to work fine.

You know, I've followed Ralfy for years and never realised he was your brother until I saw this with the clicker and thought to myself "That's the clicker Ralfy uses". Then the Isle of Man connection dropped.

Good project to revive a remote .gave you thumbs up a year ago on this one so doing the same again today .Ask your brother ,I need to get a gift bottle for a dear old school friend .I saw a bottle of Highland Queen 25 year old single malt ,Is it worth the price ?the whiskey exchange is where I seen it .Cheaper in Scotland but as always we have the LCBO taxing the hell out of it in Toronto
