As often happens, ebay popped up links to several of these units after I'd bought the smaller one. So I ordered one of these too.
It's got no active circuitry, and uses a conventional DC motor to generate an output when powered by a water source.

I would prefer the brushless design ( magnets in the rotor and output from the stater windings via rectifiers ) that doesn't have brushes to wear out so fast carrying the output current.
could u pls explain how they make it water prove
Could this device also pump water?
i must of missed this video 🙄😐
So I'm wondering if it can power a 8w solenoid valve an infrared and an arduino
Any updates on this?
The return of the 'solar' motor… you won't be generating much power with that, and it would be a shame to be prosecuted for not having an abstraction license over such a puny output lol
Awesome. I am in Europe for a month and wanted to know what is inside of these for a design project…thought I would have to wait to get back to the states to take the units I ordered apart. Big Clive data archives for the WIN yet again.
There actually isn't much slip with these mag drives. Once there is high rpm, the magnetic force applied increases exponentially. Just like when a generator is hooked up to a load, the force required to turn increases. The concept is the same except remove electrical generation, and turn it in to heat. This is all on the drive side of the device.
I know a guy that has one connected to the fresh water supply and powers all of his electronics off this! Yes I Know not very green but works.
Could you put several of these in a row along your water in feed pipe?
i'm trying to find something to connect to my pc to generate a startup sound (like a jet starting up) so I thought if I connect power to it maybe it'll work?
please post a link to this listing. i can only find those stupid brushless motor designs on ebay
how much did you pay for this one?
