Despite being designed for use in a sauna or steam room, I can't help wondering if the steam is going to cause an issue with an open ceramic plate with about 3kV across it. Especially in creating carbon tracking paths.
But here it is. Something that looks a bit like a wall or ceiling mounted speaker, but actually uses a soft electrical discharge to shred air apart into its component atoms, allowing them to recombine in unstable manners that have a strong oxidising effect.
One day I'll make a video just about ozone production and uses so I can link to it and avoid having to cover the same stuff in multiple videos.
For those comments inevitably announcing that ozone is deadly poison in any quantity, I feel the need to mention that while it is an irritant and hazard at high levels, it is present at trace levels in nature. There's a very high probability that it has an essential role in regulating mould, viruses and bacteria when at natural levels.
Stating that it is a hazard at any level is like stating that water is a hazard at any level.

I'm late to the party, and this is semantics I know.

But EDM doesn't cut materials, it vaporizes them.
The technical term would be called erosion.

It's like diamonds, you can't cut a diamond, you erode it.

I went to school in Germany and they're very particular about you usinf the correct terminology haha.

The reason for the poor battery life on those digital calipers is not external interference but the stupid "auto power on" feature. It means that in the "off" state only the display is shut down, but everything else inside that blob is still running.

Another great video….. Anyway of regulating the ozone output on this device?

With a bigger one I "cleant" my cars air condition after that I put new carbon filter in it

Aah, steam room, not sauna. You dont need to sanitise sauna, heating it up to 80-100C does automatically most of that for you.

Ozone has health issues… I'd rather have a shortwave UV sanitizer.

This is my last one of the subject Clive!!! I came across the modified royer when I spoke to Bob Pease many moons ago. He was a pleasure to deal with.
Looking at the ccft driver stuff, it is now called a Baxandall Oscillator. In Baxandall oscillators, the capacitor is generally on the primary side. This is advantageous, obviously, for lower voltage reasons! In this cct the load is a "lossy capacitor". The capacitance is "reflected" across the transformer, so this operates as a Baxandall LC resonant oscillator.
Hope you find this interesting. Thank you for your content. This keeps me occupied particularly at night when sleep evades!!!

ozone production does not happen (for most intents and purposes) in a high humidity device. Now, if you like your sauna pretty dry, this thing might work. And if it were only operated when the sauna is off (and has been presumably uh, "baked out" by the last users) then maybe… but damn this just seems like someone in CN is dumping ozone devices in North Amurrica. 🙁

    High Voltage? Is it AC/DC?!🎸

So those who are worried about ozone intake could get a teflon coated plastic bag and put that over their heads to remove the problem?

It's glued together so it doesn't have screws, nuts or bolts that rust in the hot humidity of the rooms its designed for. I'd wager glue isn't actually standard hot glue. At least that's what I'd assume.

I love your videos. Can you do video on VCD Radio frequency (RF) module teardown. Thank you Sir.

I remember this circuit well!! It was used for backlighting LCD displays when 4 BIT displays were all the rage!!!
I think this is known as a "modified royer" as the extra capacitor forms, obviously an LC resonant cct.
The transformer in royer oscillators does saturate, which is responsible for determining the frequency.
This is not very efficient. Modified Royers don't go into saturation and hence, much more efficient.

high voltage dodgy ebay devices is by far the most interesting subject on this channel, in my opinion.
