After some suggestions that I reseal the gas-jet thread with some PTFE tape the flame has now become a concentrated blue tongue of flame. It turns out that my removal of the jet from the pipe had broken the seal and was allowing gas to escape through the screw thread and get sucked in where the air was supposed to go.
OK, I'll admit that I preferred it when the thing was just putting out a veritable inferno, but the blue flame is probably more useful, albeit quite random at times.
I also had to clean the gas jet orifice, which is about 0.1mm diameter. I used a piece of thin enamelled copper wire to clean it.
The ebay listing this slightly dodgy burner came from is:-

Notice the corrosion on the leads. That points to metal being put in the water. In the foot video the electrodes were steel, maybe the aluminum does not dissolve into the water as easy.
wtf, thats Korean, not Chinese
Come on. Your always honest and then throw crap like this out. You trashed the orifice, bent the bung (thats what it's called), trashed the burner threads, held it sideways , etc., etc.
Better be a spoof or your a clown.
i'd imagine they'd use this in the colder parts of china or in the chinese logging camps in russia to heat their oil pans but then i realized they probably just light oily rags on fire and toss it under the trucks each morning
I thought I recognized that as a plumber's torch… Reminds me of such a headache when I had to do some hot tap lines in my mom's house some years back… Was all fun until I got the sprayback telling me that I didn't solder the joints correctly.
"exciting" is probably the best word i've heard anyone use to describe chinese products
buy a bunch of cheap shitty air dusters…
Rip the dusting tops off.
Attach some variation of this thingy.
And there u go. really cheap shitty torch..
Perfect for pest control. 🙂
that's no torch thats a FLAME THROWER
keep in mind that's a butane torch not a propane torch
PTFE gives off neuro toxins when heated past 270 degrees c… watch out. probably won't get that high at the nozzle, but still..
It's working. That's no fun!
You must of got someone looking because I get this when I look at the item.

I guess there is a good reason to call it Fleabay.
This are very danger type of burners. I had 3 of this type and every single one leaked on connection with gas bottle after few weeks of moderate usage. One of burners started leaking when i solder something and escaping gas catch a fire. It's very hard to extinguish if you dont have fire extinguisher nearby.
What about drilling small air vent holes in it? Seen a lot of them come with that where you could controll the airflow better.
DON"T buy this. Too dangerous.
"Not as exciting"? Remember the old Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times".
