Can anybody explain how .22K on the capacitor translates to 220nF?
OK, I've found a couple of sources that say that K is the tolerance. So I'm guessing that the .22 is uF. So can I assume that whenever there are no units, the value is actually microfarads? Thanks.

Suppression capacitors and safety capacitors are 2X boxes capacitor, what exactly the difference, seem they are interchangeable?

For faults that cannot be fixed easily … Take out ALL the electronic gubbins .. replace with ( 2 off , 1 microfarad MAINS RATED capacitors , side by side ( ? ) , wire in parallel = 2 microfarad , with a 1 MΩ , ½ Watt resistor across the capacitors, to prevent shocks etc .. then wire the capacitors IN LINE with the live input / output , neutral ONLY used if you require a mains neon indicator ) this now forms a ( tried – n – tested ! ) nightlight dimmer for a single Poundland™ 60 Watt antique style tungsten filament lamp , (approx 80 Volts gives a pleasing orange glow , and the lamp will last decades ! ! ) .. note the more common LED lamp types will NOT work , get the genuine Poundland™ tungsten type MUST be 60 Watt ( efficiency = E , Ha – Ha ) ….. QED …

Good video I Like RF-related issues with me being a ham. The frequency that is on 433.92 we share that band 70-centimeter wavelength & I just tuned there & I can hear pulsing so an unusable frequency for long distant contacts. We cannot complain as we have 10 MHz bandwidth allocation on low band UHF & we are secondary users on there but, the band is getting congested with all these gadgets.. Thanks.

Like your chanel. I find it very watchable. I bought a HOPI, and after checking that it worked OK, I turned the out-put socket round 90 degrees so that plugs wouldn't foul to clip-in terminals.

I have a Socket 1 gang, made by JSJS, I'm sure it did the same thing has been in the cupboard for a while, I've just opened it, and looks like the same layout but the capacitor says 15uF K 275v X2, looks smaller but think I might try a replacement 👍

No one will ever charge for "apparent power" the power companies compensate with pole mounted capacitor banks. Your many little .15 PF appliances plus your inductive loads, motors and such (like your a/c and fans) combine to a much more normal PF than Big Clive realizes. It is NOT a problem! Ron W4BIN
