I was given some technical gifts and a nice work jacket at the Edinburgh meet up. Here's a look at some of the technical items plus a flashlight given to me by Michael who was maintaining our rooms at the accommodation.

I bought the Brother Label Printer that was demonstrated here and I ordered the HOPI .
The HOPI is not here yet and it may be in the Dublin Customs Office.
I seem to be charged double VAT for some items from our Ex Member and it is a bit of a pain.
I keep the Customs Demand Note and the delivery docket stating that I have paid the United Kingdom VAT.

Great video, I love the fact 5 years later your style hasn't changed. Not sure why I hadn't finished this video at the time but I'm enjoying it now.

Away with ye, Clive. You've got to go a long way to beat the EMTs of the late sixties and early seventies. In my mind, 1968 stands out as probably the best I ever saw, with 1967 being almost as good, but to me, the EMT seemed to lose its way when the practical displays were discontinued. The glory days will always be when the army teams dismantled say, a Mini, or a Land Rover, carried it over a wall, threaded all the bits through a gun loupe, transported the same to the far end of the esplanade, reassembled the vehicle and drove it off the esplanade to much applause. The first to complete the task was the winner. That amongst other displays, and the grand finale with the massed bands, the pipes and drums, and ultimately the lone piper on the rampart. I haven't attended a live performance since about 1972/73, and sadly probably never will be able to again.

Some interesting goodies in the bag there! Do you ever watch "Pile of Stuff" channel? He gets regular mailbags of stuff like these, which he takes to bits for our entertainment, or sometimes kits to assemble as we watch.

2017, eh? Feels like a lifetime ago now.

Ah, a Scot Ski Die Ode. We all now that one. Only grows in the highlands if the wind is whiffy enough.

Those sculptures sort of resemble a Bigfoot face. Doesn't that make you feel better.

That floodlight case doesn't appear to be earthed and the thing is not marked as double insulted.

I had a flashback when you took the Trafficmaster unit apart. Years ago when Trafficmaster were setting up and putting in all of the infrastructure they were contacted by a good friend of my father's that works for the DTI. Someone discovered that during manufacturing a slight boo boo was made and the wrong frequency was programed into both the transmitters and receivers. This was discovered after well over 1000 sites had been commissioned. The result was that Trafficmaster had to recall and re-program all the kit out on site. OOoopsy !!!! It made me chuckle when your video reminded me of the rather large screw up 😀
