Apparently this valve actuator is dangerous to open.
Let's open it.

Thank you very much for this video. It was interesting to see what is inside of this actuator. I have a question though – does that mean when I set room thermostat temperature to e.g. 22 Celcius, this actuator's element is heated to just some specific temperature, so it opens just as much as needed a flow rate to reach 22 in a heating circuit? It does not work as 'on-off' switch, correct? In case it stays open to some degree, that means it uses a bit of electricity to maintain the element heated to some level? If that is the case, it is a bit of wasting energy I think…
So what does this actually do? I don’t get it at all, is it a thing for water, if so then what’s it’s purpose, there is no water flow.
Big Purple spring’s what I’m thinking Aswell Clive✌️
Nice. Same principle as auto choke on bike.
ooo i took one of these apart after it shorted in my flats heat exchanger. it managed to sink enough current that the main fuse board breaker broke tripping the surge and had to be replaced too…. taking that apart the surge current had permanently distorted the breakers contacts. As for the ceramic heater, I do remember coming across some ceramic filaments that used the same principle to become white hot and a lamp.
Just like a middle school kid. Johnny! Don't pee on the electric fence! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
OH CRAP, HE'S RIGHT ! ! !
This came up in the Recommendations,.. And I OPENED IT !
And now all I get,
Is " One Moment Please " 😂 🖖
Just like an automotive thermostat

Is it a real Polypipe device Clive?
I thought he said purple spring I must have dyslexic hearing
its gonna be bit faster IRL as logically the water also heating it
