This random creation just happened, and I love it.
I was playing about with some very common E27 splitters from eBay that let you plug two low energy lamps into one lamp holder, and suddenly wondered how many could be stacked.
Quite a lot as it turns out, the one shown has 15 splitters holding a total of 16 LED lamps.
It's important to note that the holders have to be screwed in far enough to make a contact while also aligning in the desired direction, and if the margin is too tight then the sides of the casing will be pushed apart. Each splitter has the threaded base crimped on in a slightly different position, so if one doesn't fit in as desired, try another one.
This project is only suited to low energy lamps to avoid excessive heat. It looks great with a mixture of the very low power 1W golf ball lamps and some 2 to 6W LED filament lamps for the useful light output. You could use a mixture of warm and cold white or a mixture of coloured lamps for extra effect.
The cluster of LED lamps actually adds up to a very useful amount of light, while also allowing the use of the much more reliable lower power lamps.

That's one nice ceiling medallion!
It looks a bit like those molecule models, only illuminated.
Glad Iโm not the only one who has done this with led bulbs and laughed at it the whole time, cheers
that is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life. I love it
What people must think when they walk into your house ๐
I love the juxtaposition of the highly ornate ceiling rose and Cliveโs Chinese eBay LED monstrosity.
Kinda looks like a pair of antlers!
Wow that's really sweet!
And this is an enlarged model of the molecule that is responsible for all life ๐
IS IT SAFE?
I was inspired by this to buy a 5-way lamp splitter on ebay. I now have 5×5 watt led filament lamps in the living room. They're the cool white, to be more like sunlight. I'm hoping it will make me less SAD in the winter months. Each bulb says it's 540 lumens, which is probably true as it looks like somebody put the sun in the ceiling. Much better than the CFL lamp I did have. Thanks.
Haha I haven't seen one of those since the 1970s! People used to make those and screw small (like 10w) decorative bulbs into them.
So cute ๐
All screwed together, neatly, like that, it looks like a molecule of intensely psychedelic LSD. How captivating, especially plugged into an early 20th century plaster ceiling moulding!
Another use of this might be to make Rudolf a spare set of antlers, so he can find his way around if his nose stops glowing at Christmas tide.
Heh …. a very funny an nice idea!
I would suggest that you put some (colored) heat shrink tubing on the wider end with the E27 socket. It will stabilise the adapters a lot and can match to the LED color…. ๐

I dying with anticipation. When will we see the Multi Triple Tap Outlet Adapter video? With long enough cords, everything in your house could go to one receptacle!
