Well this turned out to be a bit destructive.
It appears that the current version of generic LED shower heads are glued shut and the electronics are potted in hard resin.
This is great from a reliability perspective, but makes a teardown just a little more violent.

So when are you going to admit you like violently prying things apart. Adds more fun to be video, how much fun does it add to the production?

Why would anybody in their right mind waste good money on such a ridiculous peice of kit?

In this video you mention having one that unscrewed. Which model was that. If I get one of these, I want one that can i screw so it can be cleaned. We get lots of calcium built up in our water here.

Why does anyone want or need an LED colour changing shower head? IDK but it was fun watching Big Clive tear one apart.

I've got the thermo controlled ones, but the blue LEDs have stopped working when it's warm. Not completely as they flash a little just before red comes on, so they haven't blown. I think the controller is the problem, or maybe some part of the circuit has let water in. I have high pressure water and I'm guessing it found a weak spot after a year.

You took the shower head and the screwdriver that looks like a pen from Jumbo right? I have both of them :))

Same as the led tap lights they last a year and then go phut when the potted resin stator wears out!
Still great for the kitchen saves me putting the lights on at night and saves leccie – the tap led lights at 99p that is! lol
Yip Scottish and tight as a gnats arse and proud!

Clive, thank you for doing the lord's work. I wanna take apart so much in my house just to see how it works, but no way in hell can I afford to do that. Hoping to get a few tinkerer friends to add to your deserving sub count <3
