As will become clear in the video, this lamp is VERY different from what I was expecting. It's using quite a unique LED array.

I was wondering that if you'd have four of those LED clusters inside the ceramic thingie would you need the resistor at all? Wouldn't they drop all the 240 V? I mean as instrument light it would be easier when you can stuck it in there without thinking that you need to add a resitor.
Whenever you say "shipped from China" I always think you say "shit from China"
Thumbs up for the shout out for the superglue bandaid.
X-ray time.
Amazing ! … however , for a stone COLD 1 Watt ( more efficient ? ) running SES lamp , nothing beats the TESCO™ fridge lamp ( Ha – Ha , we have been here before on this topic ! ! ) ….. and it is a similar price, and convenient , whilst ( also ) buying your IRN – BRU™( ? ) ……. DAVE™ ………
Oh man I just seen a major Clive moment, I mean I've watched a bunch of the videos but this sounded like the one of where he first discovered the high voltage LEDs which is pretty cool cuz he modifies them now all the time it seems.
Wouldent it be funny if it was just a disguised filament lamp, also that thing with American Neon lamps running hotter in Britain is bullcrap because connecting 100-130 volt Neon lamps onto 230-240 is a great way to blow up Neon lamps
Superglue is highly underrated for putting skin back together. A doctor friend gave me a box of expired Dermabond and other than being purple, it was exactly the same as super glue, just thinner. I just super glued our cats face back together after she got cut on something. It was a hell of a lot easier than suturing her back up!
Very dissapointed by this video… no blood!
It doesn't get much more minimalist that this. Only one more step needed and that's to get rid of the resistor too!
My story: I bought 2 of these bulbs from ebay to fit to wall lights as a cheep, energy saving, soft light. The wall lights are the last lights I switch off in the room and in the dark I noticed that they were glowing? I was having some electrical work done on the house and asked the electrician to check the wall lights in case there was a fault but he found none. I removed the bulbs and threw them in the bin!
Look at all of those adapters!
Oven (or microwave oven) lamps perhaps?
Hence the glass?
That looks like a metal oxide resistor. They are designed for higher temperature so maybe it is being operated within its rating.
