I noticed that most of the reviews of the Cubot P6 phone on YouTube are just adverts for the sellers, so here's one from an actual user who has had the phone for a while.
In short, the massive market for Android phones in China has meant they are being mass produced, so the cost of a generic unbranded phone has fallen dramatically. The Cubot P6 is what an Android phone should be. Slick and functional. It use a common Mediatek 1.2GHz dual core processor and completely blows away my old Motorola Defy plus in terms of performance. The 5" screen is clear and bright making it very easy to read and very good for viewing videos. The back camera is OK but not anything special. The front fixed focus camera is actually pretty good.
The phone is a dual SIM unit that can accept two SIMs from different networks so you can carry a single phone when away from your home network area. The feature works very well with the phone recognising new SIMs, identifying them and letting you choose what function each will have.
So far I think this is the best phone I've ever had.

My wife bought a really fancy phone. I don't carry one. I think her payments are $450 a month for 700 years.

Hey there BC, so what phone are you still using by now after all of this time?? Please let me know because believe it or not, yeah call Ripley's, LOL I still have not purchased an I-phone of any sort and I'm really thinking hard about buying one now. Between you & 2 close friends is what I'll make my decision on because they use theirs a lot as well daily. Thanks for your time big man, Tom. PS: Thanks for all of your videos, it's helping me to learn electronics, which I just love to pieces.

These Chinese phones/tablets are starting to get really advanced. I remember watching those Ashens videos where he reviews cheap knock-off iPhones and such with their own proprietary OS and they were absolute shite. But now you can get actually quite good ones with the most recent Android on them for like £100. I got a Cube tablet off GearBest with Windows 10 on it for £130 and it works fine, at least as well as a comparable big brand tablet with the same specs. Just be careful though, when it came to the door, they slapped me with a 25 quid import duty by surprise. Wasn't particularly impressed by that. But still, >£200 cheaper than an iPad, you can't really go wrong.

I wouldn't use one of those with a stock rom. I'd put cyanogen on it as you simply can't trust the software which comes preloaded.

    custom roms are a thing….

Did Google not take Android and splatter with their logo bloat etc? Also Chrome was once Chromium and not a Google product. OS
