I'm a winner 😀 Admittedly I was getting a little nervous around the 11-12v mark.
Wonder if it would have gone out quicker if you didn't slowly ramp up the speed. Candles seem to handle steady wind just fine, but go out with sudden gusts. Try going from off to 12 volts suddenly.
