I'm not so sure it's a good idea having a downlight where you can't change the lamp without fiddling with wires, but I guess these are a marginally cheaper option for an installer due to their entire cost being equal to a cheap LED lamp.
They're basically a downlight with a standard LED lamp style PCB mounted inside them.
I got a few colours, since they are available in the usual red, green, blue, white and warm-white varieties.
The listing I bought these on was:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171503581714

An LED is just like an Diode.

That electrolytic capacitor is going to explode when one of the LED's fail to open circuit as it relies on the voltage drop of the LED array from overvoltage the capacitor. Otherwise it's quite nice specimen. I would like to know how hot the PLCC-2 type LED's goes and what current it drive these?

Would the MR16 SUPERFLUX PCB fit?

I do like the look of those, but I wonder if they have any IP rating ?  I Would imagine they would be good for kitchens/bathrooms as no way of touching any live components….
The 'choc box' you need to connect the light legally in the UK is more than the fitting…..   funny eh?

Would you be able to use these on a standard 240v dimmer? I am guessing not but don't quite understand the reasons why because I am not that tecnically minded unfortunately, perhaps a video explaination would be good?

Enjoy your channel, educating & interesting indeed, thankyou.

They are using the wiring as both current limiting resistor and fuse. What economy, making one component do 3 jobs just by using the shittiest one you can get. I bet there is only a 4 strand "copper" wire inside as well.

its the future, it should be cheaper by far to make them due to not needing access, and the old connectors , easier to make safe and thus to satisfy international regulations, plus designs that are smaller and nicer designs, well one day anyway! i would also imagine, as soon as a design is succesfull, the internal circuit board will become a standard part
