Every so often a promising project just doesn't work as intended. I spent the evening building an automated flamethrower device with spark ignition, and had major problems getting the air-fuel mix to the point that the flame would ignite reliably.
But hey, projects do sometimes go wrong and that's fine. It's still fun and you still learn from the experience.

What a brilliant project. You'll get it perfected. Thanks for sharing the journey, it is encouraging to see your attempts and resolute determination. And personal sacrifice, because who wants to live in a space smelling like a whorehouse perfume explosion?
I'd like to see the Whorehouse Perfume Cabinet Exploder project revisited
Problem as I see it is you need the fuel to exit the nozzle as a fine mist and then add the oxygen source downstream in such a way that the flame can have a controlled starting point.
Could the snout from the stove lighter be cut to whatever length would be experimentally suitable and then sealed onto the original diffuser nozzle to achieve both? It seems to me that the snout itself could also possibly be used as one electrode of the igniter. I'm not sure about the mechanics of the automation, I'm NOT that electronically crafty
DISCLAIMER: This is all armchair theorising and it is not to be inferred as having any basis in juvenile farting about by someone called mulgawilliam
Old video, I’m aware.
If you’re wanting a quick burst of flames using an electric ignitor you need to mist the fuel.
If you use an electric ignition to trigger a pilot flame, the design you have here will work.
Hopefully you get the atomization worked out.
I’m reminded of the bathroom at a place I worked for many years. Very often I would walk by the unit and it would spray fragrance all over me when it detected my presence.
I guess I should be glad it wasn’t a flame thrower. 😀
Waiting anxiously for the Mark 2 version.
Who else on this planet would consider converting an air freshener into flame throwing minibot?
Apart from Adam Savage maybe.
What could possibly go wrong, 😂😂👍
I think what you're looking for is a "propane poofer". Look it up. Basically shoots big balls of fire on command or at set intervals. Relatively easy to build, and propane is more flammable than air freshener.
How about making the nozzle as one electrode and a molex lead as another??
You can do so so much better than this.
I believe in you.
Pressurize the butane can to 120 PSI ?
Need more space between nozzle and igniter to atomize the combustible
Can you do a video about wiring a door handle to the mains
You have a similar problem as we did, you have to have a heated element or thermal mass to keep keep the nozzle warm enough to evaporate. The needles gets cold and therefore there really doesn't work well.
Big Clive the evil genius.
Hook it up to the doorbell for unwanted solicitors 🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥🤬
