I saw this in Poundworld and decided to get one to see what the circuitry was like. It got off to a rocky start with a leaky battery laying waste to the battery contacts and requiring a thorough filing to get it to actually work.
Worth it though, as the circuitry is quite unusual.

Only male mosquitoes (which don't bite) are especially sensitive to sound. That's why they have such large antennae compared to the females. They're attuned to the specific sound made by a female mosquito's wings. At best, you'd attract mosquitos with those things. Total quackery.
Any idea what frequency
It's only the female that bites only when she pregnant. The noise that unit generates is the same as the noise that the male makes. As the female isn't interested. It keeps her away or so the theory goes.
Woman: sir, I'd like to return this. I took it camping and was bitten THREE TIMES!
Store Clerk: Madam, If you wouldn't have had it you would have been bitten Ten times. It's working within normal parameters.
They are supposed to make a noise like a male mosquito to keep the female away. It is only the female that draws blood when it is carrying eggs so it does not what or need the attention of a male.
The mosquitoes here in the southern US will pick up that device and fly away with it.
Perfect for the mosquito infested swamps of Glasgow.
"Can you hear that high pitch noise?" Suddenly I'm focused on my tinnitus. Thanks Clive!
These things don't work. I once took a similar design into a swampy area with mosquitos. It didn't stop them coming to me and I had to resort to leaving the place at a brisk pace. Why do they keep being made, I wonder…
Turtle beach elite 800s…. I had to flip "super human hearing" for the friggen speakers to play the sound that gave off
Damn you Clive…your videos are addictive….😂
Holy hell I can hear that
23 ain't so old after all, audio-wise
They tested it in a friends lab and the mosquitos went and sat on the ultrasound generator…..
They don't do crap, I'm sure the mosquitoes think we're idiots.
