This is an actual product available on eBay. As soon as I found out about them I ordered a set, and about 6 weeks later they arrived.
Initially I thought it was going to be a simple straight section of flexible PCB with a row of LEDs in parallel and a couple of thin wires going back to a battery pack with a switch and resistor. But it's a lot more complicated than that, yet also very simple. The real work is in the software.

Why is that "Creepy"?….Im going to insist that my GF gets those to go with the glow in the dark socks and black light😁.
I guess those are for the girls or women that wants more attention. LOL I wonder, can you connect other LEDs to that instead of the tiny ones it has, to use for other things??
They could well be used as a task light for one’s sporin! The mind fairly reels at the possibilities 😉

Two years late but come now Clive- Shirley you know that women have been gluing dumb passive fake eyelashes on for decades at least. Smart active ones won't be much different except for hiding the leads probably under the hairdo.

Just so you know this is something you may see in a music video or a futuristic cyberpunk type of movie. And mind that I`m a cinematography director and a former music producer
I strongly suspect that one would use these in low light situations. The wires would be that much less visible.
