This is the controller for a fake "health" treatment offered by some spas where you place your feet in a bowl of water with an electrode in it, and it draws toxins out of your body via your feet, making the water turn brown in the process.
In reality the unit is passing current between two electrodes causing accelerated electrolytic corrosion and colouring the water with chromium, iron and nickel compounds.
I was expecting this to be very cheaply made with maybe just a microcontroller putting on a show with LEDs and perhaps just a simple resistor or current regulator.
I was wrong. It looks like some serious design has gone into this unit. That's actually quite common in quack products. The people designing them are often quite creative.

The more expensive devices actually do work extremely effectively and are used in some clinics by doctors for autistic kids with incredible results non verbal to verbal major changes in behaviour so before you start saying ALL these devices are a scam maybe do more research and see how they work. I’m a health care therapist and it’s amazing to detox the whole body with.
instead of using the controller how about if you connected directly to the mains talk about detox

Clive, what happens when you don't add salt to the water? What if anything is produced? What does the "array" rods do on its own to the water?
How could getting toxins from it benefit your feet?
If I use it out of the water in a room will it do anithing?
Could you re purpose it to make Hydrogen for car engines (all this water powered malarkey)

I work in an electroplating facility. We are NOT allowed to discharge chromium from our waste water treatment system into the city waste water system because it’s a toxic heavy metal. For god’s sake don’t use these things people. We treat it then filter it out and dry it,bag it in special bags that have to be properly labeled and picked up by a hazardous waste disposal crew on a regular basis. We can’t even keep them on site more than a month!!! I should point out we use hexavalent chromium which is different from chromium in stainless but high nickel concentrations are poisonous.
You could take the junk off the end and put crocodile clips on the leads and use it to clean metal parts or electroplate them ⚡️⚡️⚡️😎
