Some odd but amusing decorative LED tealights I was sent. I actually quite like the goth one with the black lace trim because it has a strong hint of the Addams family to it. Perfect for Halloween, particularly with the green LED modification. But it appears that the lace trim is not suitable for use with real flames.

I know you're propensity for ruff and old lace and pyrophilia…
You nonsense fellow… you knew it was going to burn didn't you ?? Getting to be quite the showman now are we !!! :o))
The only flickering LEDs I've ever seen were orange/amber and red. And they're quite expensive for some reason
Well, not quite two years later, and the seller no longer has the gothic look lace tealights, but they do still sell the hemp tealights. They also have the 'moving flameless' with the plastic 'flame', as well as rechargeable versions.
Just an update: The hemp candle link appears to be working again but the goth candle link still brings up an Amazon "Sorry, we couldn't find that page" error.
An idea, will need more voltage, put flicker led in series with green led, hide flicker led, perhaps cover with black insulation tape, then you have a flickering green flame.
Another way that might work is to put flicker led in parallel to green led, with the right resistor combination, flicker led draws more current that green led thus shunting current away from green led, this way means voltage supply can remain the same, though obviously the battery life will be considerably shorter.
Unfortunately the Amazon link for the Goth lace candle doesn't work anymore and the hemp candle link brings up completely different remote controlled flicker LED candles of different sizes & types. Even tried searching for "black lace candle" or "black lace led" to no avail. 🙁 HOWEVER I did find plenty of listings for rolls of black lace similar to the style used in this video so I ordered that and some small base flickering LED candles and am going to make my own. 🙂
What a warming end to this video.
these are good for Halloween
pmsl I love the way you said 'Death'.
Why is it now I keep seeing lots of cheepy chinese PINK electric death traps on Amazon now?? O.o
Very nice, wonderful spirit like for the ghost hunter in all of us. I was a ghost hunter long before it became popular. We used to have great fun visiting local haunted houses, with young ladies in tow of course. The more frightened they became, the tighter they hung on, and it usually lead to a night that was nearly unforgettable. I came to have quite a reputation as a ghost hunter, and I do believe that I have seen a few, however usually not on my hunting expeditions, they were usually fueled with beer and sex. Ghosts have a tenancy to appear when you least expect them. As a mater of fact, my reputation as a ghost hunter seems to have spurred one of my nieces to form a paranormal outfit that does go about a few states seeking spirits. I have built a few ghost detectors using Arduinos for them to play with in their haunted hunting.
Again, thank you so much for your videos, they are both entertaining and enlightening at the same time. Well most of them are anyhow, some more of one then the other, depending, it appears on your mood.
an ashens moment at the end there 🙂
"Goth" ones are the most gorgeous lights I could ever imagine. perfect. gonna buy 50 of them if I get money.
I find your voice really soothing
