This Poundland USB power supply was sent to me by Chris. He had inadvertently covered it with clothing and awoke to a strong hot circuit board smell. The power supply still works but has suffered thermal damage. This is common to most power supplies. It's really important not to cover them with anything that will limit airflow around them, as it causes excess heat and will shorten their functional life or at worst cause a fire.

It's not just the cheapo supplies that go bang, I had a Sony Xperia USB charger go bang in my hand and I had a shock off it and I decided to investigate what went bang and it turned out to be the smoothing capacitor on the output causing an avalanche effect

BTW, consuming local honey can serve to desensitize oneself to the local pollen varieties. Hay fever being a typical overreaction to allergens—pollen, and honey bees being kind enough to pass along some of the damning compounds in their "vomit", otherwise known as honey. (Don't expect that to work for the honey that's been through a candy factory though) I can attest to its usefulness, being apparently allergic to every motherf%#$^ing type of pollen in East-coast & Midwest USA. And hilariously allergic to pollen of a species of flowering plant, which has the unique evolutionary & survival strategy of blooming mere moments after a rain shower, on the small Caribbean island of my birth; not fun when rainy season is smack dab in the middle of a school year.

"hopjes" is pronounced "hop-yus" if you are of English persuasion. It means, depending on inference, "little hop" or "little hops" & "hop" here can mean any number of things…in this case "cough drop", or any kind of candy "drop"—as is the manufacture method of dropping candies to separate them, indicated by it being a hard candy—not the other "drop" or liqourice. The -je -jes -tjes is a diminutive in Dutch, or whatever the Belgians claim they speak this afternoon. Because us Dutchists tend to make sport of making the language as funfusing as possible, the "hop" in English can have the same meaning in Dutch: small jump, even without the diminutive; pronounced & spelled the exact same way.

The type of videos that you make, all straight, no cuts, no fuzz, no unecessary editing and sincere and passionate voice, is just perfect. Sometimes less is (much) more. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ

my charger and every power supply at home died because of a power outage and the power coming back at very high voltage and fried everything, I should have taken out all the plugged in electronics before going to bed…

Is it also a good idea to unplug them if you barely ever use it? I keep a charger in one of my bathrooms I barely ever use. A new charger died on me after about a year or two without barely any use..

I have a USB power bank that really tests 2 amp power bricks. it charges them at 2 amps for like 8 hours straight.
good thing it has a laptop power supply port that allows bidirectional charge, because I wouldn't trust it otherwise.
My laptop makes it get warm because when it's charging my laptop, just the battery takes about 50 watts and add 10 on top of that for 60 watts, which maxes out the default power supply, so i got a new PSU for it that goes to 90 watts and that brick is a lot happier than the other one.
