I found these a while ago while looking for the small golf ball style lamps. I'm not sure if these are based on an existing style of lamp or if they cone shape is just optimised for the placement of the LED module and its beam shape. They'd be interesting as sign and festoon lamps.
The colours are very good and the construction fairly typical of this type of lamp.

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

Capacitor is rated for 110 to 127V maximum to 220v and the 47 ohm is to act as a voltage divider with 470kohm at the capacitive dropper also the other 470kohm act like a shunt to devide in half the main voltage like 2 x 470kohm in series then in middle of them is joined the 47 ohm and 8 leds in series together but in parallel with the second 470kohm resistor
Modern pygmy bulbs!!! Gotta go look for these on eBay ❤️😊
"That is massive."
Yep, I hear that from my girlfriend all the time. 😁
very droll… "the sacrificial lamp"…. 😀
Can you please tell me wear you get those mushroom shape led festoon lamps and do the come in BC please.
Thanks.
I noticed you arranged the colours in order Clive =D
Did you figure out if those colored ones have white LEDs or colored LEDs inside?
Over here in the US, I've been looking for solid color C7 or C9 LED bulbs that have warm white LEDs inside, so they look just like the old incandescent ones, to no avail, everyone insists on using those godawful colored LEDs which of course look nothing like incandescent, even if they're behind translucent plastic rather than transparent or faceted like they were when they first came out.
Yeah I don't get cold white LEDs either, especially this current fad for replacing all exterior & interior bulbs on a car with cold white LEDs. Why would you want to make your rear number plate lamps brighter & warm white is just so much more inviting in a car interior than the clinical cold white.
With care, those could be modified to run off a 24 V (or so) DC PSU. That PSU should make a set of those lamps much cheaper to run and also more reliable, considering that the series cap is being overloaded with a 243 V AC mains supply.
I believe the solution for the amusement park people is to switch to bi-pin halogen lighting.
Hi. Can you link to the seller? Thanks.
For the record, my family members know you as “That guy on YouTube who loves LEDs” and we all appreciate you for it.
