There are quite a few thermostat modules on eBay, but this one is different in that it has a nice clear display of all data and is super simple to use for either heating or cooling.
You basically just set the temperature that the load will turn on and off and it knows from the direction whether it's a heating or cooling application. Hysteresis is simply set as the difference between the on and off temperatures.
the circuitry and software is super simple, so reliability should be good. There's polarity protection and the volt-free relay contacts are rated 10A resistive, but probably better used at a lower current.

Make sure your smart thermostat has an internet trail leading back to China so you can thwart Republicans by flipping votes to socialism every time you run the a.c..

Great video, very easy to understand. I am hoping you can tell me if I could extend the length of the probe by just splicing in a length of wire.

And here my thermostat's range is tuned with a carefully-selected wedge of foam behind the mercury switch. At this point, it almost seems like a fun project to rig up an Arduino to toggle the levers instead of getting a "smart" thermostat.

    Does it still work?

Hi. I bought a digital control model W-1411, very similar to the one of its video. I connected it to 12VDC but it did not work. The packaging indicates GND / N DC +/- but does not specify the voltage value.
    The manual indicates DC12V / 100-240. Can I connect it to 110V?

What does it do if you set the start and stop temperatures to the same value?

mine have some error it gets on and off within sec and repeats it it dose not stay on at all

Oh that is so neat I want one. 🙂

Wow, that is a seriously neat little module. And the automatic selection of whether it turns on above a set point to provide cooling or below a set point to provide heating, with adjustable hysteresis, is just genius!

I got 2 of these but I'm a little confused about load side of things. The instructions show an inline psu for the output. How does this work? If the input psu is large enough to supply the output as well is that OK or must there be 2 plus used to make this work? Thanks

Hey Clive. Are you using this module now or is it sitting on a shelf? New update video on it perhaps?
