There's a shopping centre near our Edinburgh work-accommodation with a Sainsburys store in it. I thought I'd buy some of their items for variety, although they're not quite up to the gadget standard of Poundland or Aldi in the same mall.
If you enjoy these videos you can help support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and random gadgets for disassembly at:-

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

Clive, re: skin condition. Have you tried over-the-counter steroid creams? Hydrocortisone in .5% does the job for me. Consider it only because you may be more comfortable when reaching for something. A painful bit might cause a flinch when that would be bad.
And to be fair… about those security goons at Sainsbury's… you do kind'a look like a hobo. Perhaps a gentleman hobo but still…
Don't forget to point-out the switch who's main job is to allow in moisture and cause switch failure within 6 months. 1 year (maybe) if you pack it with dielectric grease. I just got to start bypassing them completely before even putting them outside!! :^/
"Fuck you, Sainsbury's" 😂
Love your vids, bud – please do keep them coming ❤️😎
Sainsbury's "posh"? Well, compared to Poundland I guess…
Thanks once again
Loving it. I learn so much from you. I don't know a diode from a zener diode, but, with your help, it will get through my thick skull.
You are so incredible, Clive.
I said in a reply to a comment below that I now can't find that I'd put a fully charged 2100mAhr cell into a 110 LED ropelight using this controller, saying I'd expect the time the LEDs were lit would be governed by the capacity of the solar panel not the cell and I was correct.
It took over a week for the fully-charged 2100mAhr to discharge to the point that the LEDs were not to lit all night, say 10 hours ATM here in the southern UK. The last couple of nights they've been on for around 7 hours after a sunny day, about the same as the standard 600mAhr cell gave.
[Edit] Maybe not quite as clear cut as I thought. Yesterday we had sun from dawn to dusk and this morning the LEDs were still glowing dimly an hour or so before dawn.
Sainbury's? Posh? – You must have been born on the wrong side of the tracks! In my part of the world, they're about on par with Tesco and Morrisons! – If you want posh, you want Waitrose! Even the spuds are polished in there. . . .
Well, that set of lights was rather disappointing, but at least I don't need to destroy my Sainsbury's solar powered "Balloon Garden Lights" – they use the exact same solar panel/business end. I'm beginning to think that Wilko might just have the edge on build quality here.
As an aside here, would you like to do an autopsy on a filament LED 40W (equivalent) light bulb? – Sometimes it lights normally, but mostly, it flickers violently, so much so that it makes me feel physically sick after just a few seconds. Do you want it?
Please always turn on the lights, before (or after) taking them to bits.
If they are going to search you at least make out you are really enjoying it. That should put them off for next time.
If Sainburys put the cct diagram on the tag as well as the batt spec there'd be no reason to open it 🙁
