I have to wonder if the scattered alignment is purposeful — maybe it makes it more obvious at different angles? Either that or they just don't bother because it doesn't impact the performance for its intended application

Only wish they would add lasers to break lights road flares and mast lights for ships .Green and Red led lasers for ships with a dispersion pattern and same for break lights .Won't hurt the eyes and can be seen from far away

So it seems that You actually have to pay more to get less "modes". Cheapest LED flare I could find in my area has 9 modes with white led (one switch operation) as the last one which is pretty annoying. Slightly more expensive has 5 modes with white leds starting first (much better). This one here has only 2 with white leds being on separate switch. Interesting….

This has just popped up in my recommended videos. So, a bit late, I'd say don't worry about LEDs at odd angles, that will only help to produce a distinct flash in the rotating mode, rather than just a slight shimmer as viewed from the perspective of the oncoming traffic. Imagine how much more effective a conventional mechanical revolving beacon is as opposed to static lamp. A gap in the light catches the eye far better than a static lamp, or in this case, a shimmering lamp.

Interesting that I just now got recommended this video.

I've had a number of these types of devices of different brands stocked since almost a decade ago when I wanted to (and eventually did) use it for a costume.
First one of which then immediately broke because I hadn't learned that PCB's don't like S-39 Flux, and the LED's that came with it were the weird ones where the anvil was the anode and the post the cathode instead of the other way around.

Was slightly different type though, 16 side-facing LED's, no top LED's and 9 functions.

Why the hell didn't you select rotary after you aligned the leds? Feel very unsatisfied.

Lidl just had a bunch of these clones this past week in Greece. The top lights are red and I believe it uses 2 of the AAA size batteries, personally I would find it lacking on time on with such small batteries.
