A look at the construction and circuitry of a rather nice metal channel star with timer controlled battery operated lights.

put the addressable leds in the star
'
i did put four AA batterys 6 volts are better and more brighter than three AA batterys
'
a pack of three AA batterys…
cutting the three springs 1/3 off and squeeze spring…
spring will not push the batterys out and not break the plastic pack
Hi Clive, not that into electronics, but you make it so interestingย can't stop watchingย the vids.
Hi Clive Wilkinsons have some really nice lights this year, I got the green and purple battery lights and the pastel mains lights and now I ordered some white timer lights too ๐ they seem a lot brighter than the old ones.
I'd be interested to know how much current the lights draw when on, and how much current just the timer draws when the lights are off.
I work for the company who owns TK Maxx. The division I work for is a direct wholesaler of high-end consumer products, so it's not uncommon to find light fixtures which cost a few thousand US dollars on our sales floor. They are also huge greenies and always push "environmentally friendly" products.
Only one problem with those, bought two with more LEDs they are pulling 80mA each,
that works out to 5 days battery live when using the timer function,
a little short for my taste.
So I connected an old 5v phone charger to both in parallel and now they are great.
I would only reccoment them if you know how to do that.
Why is there a resistor in series with the gate of the transistor?
Shouldn't that just be a pull down resistor going from the positive line to the gate?
dear Mr Clive! ! for Christmas this year I would like more magical Christmas smoke, sparks and some bangs! please Mr Clive. that's what I would like for Christmas this year. thank you!!
Great teacher, selection of crystal frequency is something I hadn't even considered before – obvious now. Great delivery and the erudite Scots accent doesn't do any harm either – very watchable
My WLAN printer supports printing via Android devices with it's own app, and it actually works pretty good with pretty much all the settings I can use on the Laptop.
Don't know if yours is WLAN though, but I guess it isn't, if it was you most likely would have found out the Android printing stuff by yourself ๐
