I bought this pump hoping it was going to be a piezoelectric one, but then had my doubts. It turns out to be very interesting indeed, because it's not what I was expecting.

    Maybe the air inlet is designed to muffle the sound. if you listen closely you can hear the 50hz pumping sound.

    I have one of these that bubbles air into the coolant tank of my CNC to keep the anaerobic bacteria at bay. It has been running continuously for about 5-years. The first time I heard someone say “piezo” they pronounced it “pee-zo” and that’s how I’ve pronounced it that way ever since. I was maybe 12 years old at the time. The proper “pee-eh-zoh” pronunciation has always seemed like an unnecessary syllable.
