Different look and sound to the video while I'm travelling about with work. Since there was a local Poundworld in the process of closing down I bought some of their LED lamps which normally sell at about £2. This one is the most interesting because all the LEDs and current regulating circuitry are mounted directly on a ceramic substrate.
I'm guessing that the main current limiting component is an active regulator with a fixed current and possibly thermal regulation too.
If you enjoy these videos you can help support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and random gadgets for disassembly at:-

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

With all these LEDs how many hours will they run? And as always Clive. Love your sharing.
Have you ever found anything that will dissolve the gel coating? Or do you know what type of plastic or resin it is?
You were supposed to show us the bit where you smash it!
7, 7, 6, 7, 7 chips = 34, x 2 sides is 68, x 3 volts is 204 volts ???
Very good informations !!
I like your videos. Super !!
Does the sound seem weird to anyone else?
I have 25 of these installed in an antique chandelier.
They flicker when I try to dim them with a trailing edge LED dimmer….
Anyone any idea on how to circumvent this?
Aurora make some really nice fittings that take G9, pretty sure GU is also acceptable/used
I too bought one of these for 50p,found a sutable holder in an old display unit, works well as an under cupboard kitchen worktop light. I put some foil on the underside of the cupboard to reflect light and dissipate heat.
I bought a few of these from China, as I haven't seen them in Poundland or Poundworld. They were advertised as 5 Watt but when they arrived they seemed rather dull and measured 1.5 Watt. I received the usual partial refund. As others have said light fittings that are designed for G9 type bulbs often have restricted space available, so getting more powerful but larger cob bulbs is not always the answer for simple replacement of G9 incandescent bulbs.
Thank you for a video! This is what I looking for. My question is what about flicker? It seems to be a visible 100 hz pulsations? Can you capture a video of working lamp to see a visible flickering? Thank you!
The wideband White light cannot be produced by a LED, so they use Blue LED's striking phosphor to produce the White light; in case anyone wondered.
I like the little beep from your camera right at the beginning. That could almost be your intro.
Your description of how you got the 2 blood blisters has made my scrotum shrink and hide inside my body. Yikes!!!
