Something completely non-electronic for a change, although it does involve fire and light.
These little plastic disks have been around for a very long time with no obvious changes. Probably because it's hard to improve on perfection. These things let you turn an ordinary glass into a candle that burns standard vegetable oil. They run for a very long time on each wick. Spare wicks are readily available or can be improvised.
Here's a UK eBay search for floating oil candles (note that some listings are just for the wicks and not the floats.)

The problem with this plastic device appears when the oil is almost finished: the flame burns the plastic of the entire device, not good. With water under the oil layer the problem is solved, but the oil can turn rancid and the end of the oil consumption becomes noisy.
Very nice!
There's a Greek Orthodox site selling different types of floating wicks – apparently they can be used for vigils.
You can make your own disks by cutting off the end of a plastic water bottle
Brilliant. Im buying some, its dangerous watching you.
It's juish. And we use this stuff also in the orthodox church, like an icon lamp
Now I’m very worried because, what do you refer to as heart-shaped I had already decided in my mind resembled a pair of buttocks. 😵💫🙉🤩
Conceivably, 'aromaglow', could be a politically correct term, for a lit fart, in a darkened room.
As kids we uyed sea shells and some yarn wig. Fill oil in the shell. Quite neat.
I gave you a dislike
Is there any reason why you can't just fill the cup all the way with oil?
This brings me back to my childhood in the early 60s
best video in youtube
Impressive. Would like to buy disks. Where can I buy and what are they called as. Thanks
If you get it going with oil can you use butter?
