As dodgy Chinese toadstool night lights go, this one is possibly one of the most luxurious I've come across. Similar circuitry to the others with the slight disappointment of non-pluggable LEDs. (Still no problem for people like us to change though.) But what sets this one apart from the others is the large quantity of decorative foliage and the neat flocked base that has a deep grassy effect. It also differs in having one toadstool and two flowers instead of the usual three toadstool caps.

One thing I hate about the Chinese 2-prong vs. the NA 2-prong is the lack of the little holes on them — the Chinese ones slide out easily, whereas the NA ones have little holes and inside the socket is a matching dimple that grabs it. Not perfect, and the sockets can get loose, but it's something

The metal film 180 ohms resistor acts as a fuse.

Been an American all my life 67 years now, can't say as I have ever slipped my fingers on a plug and got a shock.

In America we yank the plug out using the cord. All joking aside, those sleeved plugs are smart.

I think the Chinese use a random word sequencing algorithm to produce their instructions.

I'd rewire, placing the leds in the collector and swap the ldr and resistor, the way it's currently shown, this will always be drawing current, more so with the transistor fully on, and this means it's wasting energy in daylight hours.

Oh dear, I've touched live prongs all too much. Most commonly with chunkier adapters, as it's all too tempting to curl fingers behind them if they're not coming out easily. (Especially when I was younger…)

My first mains shock was at age 8 plugging in something that had one blade bent, my greasy little paw slid right round it and got a taste.

The cord from the plug to the circuit seems small, but guess its made for 110volts and 220? Is it a fire hazard ?
