This is actually a very well made flashing collar. Perfect for keeping your canine chum safe on dark nights. Not particularly waterproof though, but it could be the basis for a custom version.
The unit runs for hours on a charge even when in continuous mode, so it should last a very long time between charges in flashing mode. The charge current is 100mA so it should be near fully charged in an hour. The formula for the charge current is 1V divided by the programming resistor value then the result multiplied by 1000. So 1V divided by 10,000 ohms = 0.0001, multiplied by 1000 = 0.1A (100mA).
The lithium cell tested at around 88mAh. It may gain a bit more capacity after a few cycles, but was a bit lower than I guessed. With a bigger cell the PCB could be useful for a custom beacon.

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

THESE BLINKING LED collars are awesome for night time. huge safety device
I bought one of these the other day, cost £4.99. The tube is rubber with leds inside. There is a mark which tells you that is the most you can cut off before you get to the leds. Other than the rubber tube all seems to be the same except I haven't taken it apart to see what's inside. Nice to see the insides though, thnx.
Tried to fix my family dog's LED collar but it was far too corroded on the inside. My dad is what I would call chaotically lazy. He took the dog into the sea 3 times, each time it started glitching, on the third it just went very dim then stopped working. The idea of changing a £15 LED collar to a £5 basic is too much work for him. He is a man who won't be told, if anything he will double down on going against advice, even if it results in breaking and costly replacements. reverse psychology is a doozy.
Dogs are fine, but im a Cat person typically. Nothing against dogs, but i like cat since you have to earn their trust. Cats teach you patience.
What do you mean by "wormed"? Is that like a champher sort of deal?
What kind of battery could i solder on to make it last longer?
Thank you
Oh yes, now this is more like it, Clive. An S&M collar with flashing LEDs. It could change color signifying …. states of excitement together with flashing more vigorously.
Why o why sir have u not told us the Brand of the collar or have a link so that we may purchase it…I don’t see the point of this disassembly..? Why take apart something without a definitive ID of the product 1st? Am I missing something? Liability issue maybe? Or is this purely an electronic studies vid? Either way I would see it more beneficial to ID products before exploded/disassembly…..it would probably widen your viewer genre as well as add details that would interest not only specific product consumers like myself (who’s solely looking for a collar) but Invite your typical curious engineers. Appeal 2 both crowds maybe?
What is the part number on the flasher chip?
Man and dog no better combination we are 4 and I'm the pet human I'm allowed to open doors serve them food pick up poo and then they take me out for a walk
My dog is looking after me right now.
Thank you soo much for showing how to cut it!! The directions in the package sucked!! I wasn't sure if the end actually came off or not.
It looks a bit woof. 😁
Not much to the circuit board, so it's a bare bones design. 😁
Takes forever to recharge.
You can also get them in the fake neon style too. They look nicer.
