Another sensational eBay delight that you should probably not buy unless you really know what it is and does. It bathes a whole room in the icy glow of UVC narrow band ultraviolet, which can cause eye and skin damage to anyone in its vicinity. It appears that the "acarien" reference may be to do with killing dust mites. I'm not sure how effective that is, but it definitely puts out a lot of UV and makes the room smell strongly of ozone in the process.
UVC tubes are often used in industrial food processing equipment to sterilise it in a cleaning cycle where the machinery runs while the lamp is lit inside. You also get water sterilisation systems where the water is pumped through a tube in close vicinity of a UV tube.
If you really do want to buy one of these on eBay then the magic keywords are E27 and germicidal. The only ones I could find were 220V so they are probably really only intended for sale in China. I did see 110V blacklight lamps falsely advertised as germicidal.
If you do buy one of these you MUST make anyone who might come across it aware that it is dangerous to look at or even be in a room with when lit. If you like weird and dangerous electrical stuff or have a genuine need for a convenient UVC lamp with integrated ballast, then this may be a worthy addition to your collection.
If you enjoy these videos you can help support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and random gadgets for disassembly at:-

This also keeps the channel independent of YouTube's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

Nft bros ended up with severe eye pain and skin burn all because they probably didnt even bother to read the product description…
They just saw the light was blue and thought it would look cool on the stage…

Apefest, a convention for people dumb enough to own a bored ape, bought a bunch of these from China and used them to light the stage this year. Reportedly from an attendee, they and roughly 1000 other people had to seek medical attention for their eyes the following day.

this bulb is sold as a replacement for UV-sterilisers that break. you are not meant to use it as in, it ought to be in casing or housing that allows water (usually what this is used to sterilise) to pass through and is commonly found in water filter systems and anti-algae lamps for aquatic tanks.

Apparently Apefest 2023 was dumb enough to use this kind of lighting and it's ended up blinding and injuring many of the attendees. FUN!

I would not use UVC for a normal room disinfection because UVC effects the colour of furniture and perhaps deteriorates other material.

I am looking for a UVC lamp to expose my wife’s clear bottle to turn it purple. antique bottles
exposed to UV will change colors, elements in the old glass. I would put it in a box with the lamp
and expose it till it changes. but I need one that is rated for 120v in the US. thanks for the education.

According to what ive bene told if you stay too close to this light for about 10 minutes while its turned on you will simply die, i wonder if its true though. I have a similar light with same power, and i use it in the shower with no water, reason is fungus not going away no mattdr what i do, so this light is doing just fine, tried all cleaning chemicals nothing worked. Only uvc does work 👍

Did you ever ended opening this up? If so, I can't find the video. I am curious about how the insides of this things are wired… I suppose it is a tiny ballast connected to the four pins or eight pins of these tubes, but I can't find much information.

How about a smart lamp.? .lights the room safely when someone is in. Cleans the room with UVC when the room is empty

What could you use to cover plastics if using this in a room in order to protect the plastics from UV? Anything that you could drape like certain cloths?
