Teardown of a small 60 LED mains powered lamp purchased off ebay. These lamps are very hackable to swap in lower value capacitors to reduce the LED current and make the lamps last a LOT longer.
One moment please…

You gave them opium they gave you electric shocks and cheap shit
Hello, Could post a video using 8mm strawhat white LEDs. Thanks in advance.. 🙂
Hello, Could you please let me know the value of the 2 resistors.. Thanks!
"Thanks china, we love you too" I nearly fell off my chair lol
It is indeed the "luxury" version. The ones prior to this model in the same range had a separate general-use capacitive limiter that did indeed cause visible flicker in peripheral vision when used with large strings of LEDs.
The earliest capacitive droppers with low value series resistors really did nuke the LEDs, but the later versions with sensibly high resistor values that limit peak transients to a few hundred mA seem pretty reliable. This particular version has an electrolytic right behind the rectifier which eats the bulk of any transients before they even get to the LEDs.
Modding these with resistors or a constant current switcher for 12V/24V use would probably be better WRT lamp lifetime as these capacitive droppers pas any high dE/dt transients straight to the LEDs.
This is the 'deluxe'-elcheapo version, in the extremely crappy ones they omit the filter cap, for that nice free headache inducing stroboscopic effect
